The game serves as the part in the franchise of Yu-Gi-Oh! and the main gameplay involves the player gathering cards and using them to compete against computer-controlled players. In the game, the player may also fight against the decks which the player himself has designed and saved. Three promotional cards are introduced in the game such as Helios the Primordial Sun, Helios Duo Megistus, and Golden Homunculus. Unlike the previous installments, the cards gathered from packs have correlation to those related for the Trading Card game. The game rewards the player with points which he can use to unlock additional content.
