Urban Space Squirrels is a Side-scroll, Puzzle-Platform, and Single-player video game with Action elements developed and published by DTA Entertainment LLC for Xbox 360. The game brings the stunning gameplay revolves around the platform, starring a squirrel as a playable character with a whole lot of bombs. The player uses these bombs to release the squirrel upwards as well as to trigger switches. Several bombs can be set up at once to detonate. Several puzzles in each level need the creative use of bombs to advance. The player needs to deal with switches, time locks, and exploration elements across the massive numbers of hazards. The main objective of the player in each stage is to reach the exit point, and there are ten collectible pages available strewn across each level for more navigation to find out. Each level offers the same background but different platform and struggle. The game increases the level difficulty as the player advances through it.

The game offers three-button controls, which the player uses to play the game. In the game, the player controls the small black ninja, who is capable of jumping, climbing, dodging, and rebounding from walls in order to gather golds on his way to the exit of the level. There are many levels and each level the player gets into the time limit based on the metabolism of ninja which according to the instruction for the games, grants the ninja an extremely short life-span. Collected gold may increase the remaining time for the player, thus being a valuable item to gather. While the player is given extra lives, death can still come often and swift. The gameplay becomes difficult to play as the player reaches the advanced levels where he will face difficult tasks to complete.
