The main focus is on creating alliances, invading the enemies, resource collection and building structures such as Headquarters, Barracks, resource generation buildings, research labs and markets etc. As the Title suggests, Tribal Wars 2 is strictly about Tribes, that you can be part of by making alliances and to achieve the goals of Coordination, Protection, and heavy attacks on the enemies. These tribes can communicate in-game via the Private Message Board system and stay in touch during the times. The combat system in the game is very typical and follows the footsteps of its predecessor and it allows you to train the troops, send them to rival villages to eliminate the enemies and to loot resources as well as capturing the lands.
