The game serves as the third installment in the series of The Settlers game, featuring the Single-player campaign Missions, new map for both modes (single-player and multiplayer), and a map editor. There are three different races present such as Asians, Egyptians and Romans, and the player needs to control one of them to fulfill the requirement of his duties. Each race has its unique skills, play style, and abilities. The player can control the game using point-and-click interface. In the game, the primary objective of the player is to build settlements with the functioning economy system, assembling the sufficient military units to conquer the territories, and gaining control of the entire map.
