The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan is an Adventure, Co-op, Horror, Survival, Single-player, and Multiplayer video game developed by Supermassive Games. The player controls one of five characters with the task of finding a way to get rid of the ghost ships. While exploring the world, the player can view the environment from the third-person perspective.
One night, the five characters set off to the South Pacific Ocean to explore the wrecked plane lost in World War II, where some pirates take them, prisoners. The player needs to make decisions to get away from prison and ghosts. The outcome of the game depends on the choices that the players make.
The game allows the player to play three modes, such as Solo Story, Shared Story, and Movie Night, where two players can play the co-operative online shared story, and in movie night mode, all the five players can take part by possessing one character. The player has to get all the playable characters alive from the clutch of ghosts. The player can reveal the secret that happened on the ship previously, which will help the player to save the lives here and now.
It is a multiple ending game as the conclusion of the story is different all the time because all the players make distinct decisions. While inspecting the playfield, the player views the environment from a first-person as well as a third-person perspective. In this open-world adventure, the environment plays a big part of the core gameplay, as the player can pick up an object such as pipes, wood, etc. and use it as a melee weapon.
