Tex Murphy Overseer is an Adventure and Single-player video game developed and published by Access Software. The game serves as the fifth title in the series of Tex Murphy of graphic adventure video games. In the game, the player controls the private investigator named as Tex Murphy as he struggles to recounts his first case’s story to his beloved girlfriend, named as Chelsee Bando. Like the previous two titles, Under a Killing Moon and The Pandora Directive, the game mixed the use of FMV (Full Motion Video) with 3D environments. The game takes place in the WWII-themed in San Francisco. After the brutal events of World War II, most major cities have been reconstructed, though specific areas remain as they were before the conflict. World War II left a mark on the world such as the formation of two classes of inhabitants the Norms and the Mutants. The game lets the player free move across the city and enables him to find clues in every corner to advance through the story. It has two different modes such as Gamer Mode and Entertainment Mode. The game puts the player in the role of the protagonist named Reika, who must travel to different time periods to find the most wanted criminal named as Luda, from her time. After detecting the antagonist, the player must struggle to fend off his evil plans. The game uses pre-recorded animation, instead of sprites to show the on-screen action. The gameplay is split into levels, referred to as time periods. The player starts the game in 4001 AD with the thief, who stole the time travel device.
