Super Monkey Ball 2 is a Party, Single-player and Multiplayer Platform video game developed by Amusement Vision and published by Sega for Nintendo GameCube. Second sequel in the series of Super Monkey Ball, it is marked as the first release to have a storyline and released for a home console. The main task is to explore the environment by controlling a monkey trapped inside a ball, to reach the end of each stage. Using the stick, the player controls the monkey and try to maintain balance, because once the player fall during rolling, the game ends. There are several stages and each contains platforms such as half-pipes, slopes, moving objects, and more. The game features new gimmicks, including switches, teleporting doors, massive obstacles, and more. It has three modes such as Challenge, Story, and Party. The story mode revolves around the player and the antagonist named Dr. Bad-Boon. The story reveals that an evil scientist steals all the bananas from the Monkey Island. There are four playable characters and each has its unique skills and abilities. Choose the character and jump into the game to retrieve all the bananas to the land to win the game.

It delivers a futuristic gameplay, in which cheating is only the way to dominate the race. According to the story, the game is set in the futuristic environment where no-one respects the racing line. Crossing the finish line first is all about taking shortcuts. Only a way to win is to get the drop on your rival competitors by taking massive leaps across the roller coaster-like speedway. However, these tricky overtaking maneuvers can shift you into the land where to come out is impossible. In the game, you have to race against others in either couch or online play.
