The title serves as the remastered edition of the original title StarCraft, released in 1998. The game retains the assets of the original title but offers Ultra HD graphics, modern online feature, and pre-recorded audio. The improved graphics support up to 4K HD resolution, and it comes with several improvements in multiplayer matchmaking, saved settings, and social integration. The player is capable of pairing his online accounts from the original title with the new online account to continue his statistics into the remastered version.
