Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy is the blend of Action-Adventure, Shooting, and Hack-and-Slash elements developed by Raven Software and published by LucasArts. The game takes place in the Star Wars universe and offers the customization feature, enabling the player to modify the gender and appearance of the character, and can build a lightsaber by selecting the blade colour and hilt style. In Single-player campaign, the game puts the player in charge of a protagonist named as Jaden Korr, who is a student at the Jedi Academy. During the plot, the player must accomplish a series of missions assigned to him by Luke Skywalker and Katarn. Multiplayer mode enables the players to play against other players from across the world or via LAN. The player can explore the environment from both either a first-person or a third-person perspective to engage in combat full of firearms, force powers and lightsabers. In the game, the player has an option to select the perspective for every weapon except for the lightsaber, which must be equipped with a third-person perspective.
