STALKER
STALKER is an Action-packed series of blasting First-person Shooter and Horror-Survival video games. Developed by a Ukrainian Company named as GSC Game World, all of the games in the series are available to play only on Microsoft Windows. The STALKER series is inspired by the popular novel Roadside Picnic and a 1997 film named as Stalker and it is set in the surrounding areas of the Chernobyl Accident site in Ukraine near the borders of Belarus. The Site of the incident is called “The Zone” where, in an Alternate reality, another blast occurs, and the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant starts leaking heavy radiation into the atmosphere. The radiation spreads a larger area and causes strange changes in the people and wildlife living in the area, converting them into badly mutated monstrous beings. STALKER series offers four main games in the series including S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. All of the games in the series offer a similar type of gameplay, but different locations, characters and back stories. Another game of the series is in the development phase and the company behind that (Vostok Games) recently declared that the game would be a Free-to-Play MMOFPS named as Survarium. Fallout New Vegas is an Action, RPG and a First-person Shooter video game developed by Obsidian Entertainmen and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game is set in a futuristic era in three fictional cities of California, Nevada and Arizona in a post-apocalyptic open world. You take the possession of protagonist’s character of The Courier who is hired by an unknown company to deliver a package to New Vegas strip but in the middle of his quest he gets ambushed by a mysterious man who shoots him in the head and steals the package. A friendly robot rescues him and takes him to Doctor Mitchell who heals him. After recovering, the protagonist starts joining the dots and upon getting to the core, vows to avenge and recuperate the package. The Courier takes a place in a faction and starts working for the cause, finds the man who shot him, kills him and recovers the package. After the package recovered, he gets to the company that hired him and moves slightly to the top leadership by killing the low profile members of the organization, finds the man and kills him and the game concludes. Rage by Id Software is an FPS, Vehicular Combat and RPG video game. Set on earth, in a Post-Apocalyptic Era, the game is about an Asteroid (99942 Apophis) Impact and the destruction that followed. After the impact, a huge number of population vanished from the face of earth and the remaining humans came together to form settlements to live in and save their selves from a worldwide waves of terror, theft and loot. The game lets you be the protagonist, an Ark Survivor who wakes up from a 106 years sleep and emerges from an underground shelter called Ark. Your duty as the protagonist is to get out of the shelter, build a settlement, accommodate humans and fight off the bandits. Bioshock Infinite is an FPS (First Person Shooter) video game developed by Irrational Games. The game is set in the year 1912 and features the protagonist Booker DeWitt, a former Pinkerton Agent. DeWitt gets tasked with finding and bringing back a girl named Elizabeth from the floating city of Columbia. DeWitt reaches to the spot where she was kept and frees her but soon after her rescue they both get involved with local factions (The Nativists and Elite). The game is a super hit amalgamation of Open world, Psychological Horror Survival and shooting elements. The game kicks off with the investigation of the murder of “Becky Adams and Diane”. Protagonist as the investigator “York” find out that the murders are a work of the “Raincoat Killers” and suspects Thomas in the murders and Thomas after some time dies with a hook in his neck. Thomas’s death halts the investigation a bit but “York” keeps on gathering the evidence. Emily joins the investigation with York and finds out the final victim “Carol”. Carol infects Emily with red seeds and she falls ill. York leaves Emily with Kaysen and continues the investigation, encounters George and makes him confess the murders and kills him. The game concludes. The story of the game is a bit twisted and takes you to the heights of amazingness in horror-survival and psychotic experience. Dead Space 3 is a brilliant new Action, Horror-Survival, Stealth and Third Person Shooter video game and a direct sequel to Dead Space 2. The story continues from where it ended in Dead Space 2 and allows you to be the protagonist Isaac Clarke, team up with John Carver and attempt to end the Necromorph intimidation once and for all. Doom 3 is an amazing FPS video game that will test your mental and physical strength by putting you into the most thrilling, Horror and Challenging game-play ever. This wonderful Survival and FPS game tells the story about a demonic invasion at the Union Aerospace Corporation’s mars Research and Development Facility. The invasion forced you into a corner and now your only objective is to survive and get out of the facility. But it’s not as easy as it seems, you’ll have to muster up your courage, pick up weapons, and go confront the devil and his apprentices. You must shoot and kill them in order to survive or else they’ll have no shame in taking you out. You can use Grenades, guns, Chainsaws, knives etc. as you primary weapons and must survive. Bioshock, developed by 2K Boston in collaboration with 2K Australia and published by 2K Games is a First Person Shooter and an RPG (Role Playing Game) video game playable on PC (Microsoft Windows), Mac OS X, PlayStation 03, Xbox 360 Cloud OnLive and iOS platforms. The game is set in the year 1969 and features the protagonist Jack who after a plane crash near an underwater city Rapture, tries to escape but instead discovers something out of this world. The city stood in the bottom of the sea for decades but its foundations started to crumble with the discovery of a Plasmid named ADAM intended to empower humans with super powers. Jack tries to escape the city but the only possible way to get out of the city gets stormed with the ADAM powered super humans and jack starts fighting with them in order to get out. By the use of different weapons and the Plasmid, Jack fends off the enemy and frees a bunch of the last remaining sane people who then turn the city’s defensive systems against the enemies. Jack continues his journey, keeps defeating the foes and finally gets out of the city by utilizing the stealth and melee techniques along with the use of different weapons. BioShock with a horror survival and biopunk (a mixture of Biotechnology and Punk) themed environment, a brilliant story-line and quite exciting game-play provides with an amazing FPS gaming experience. #11 Borderlands
Borderlands, developed by Gearbox Software, Demiurge Studios and Feral Interactive is an amazingly Action-Packed First Person Shooter (FPS), Action-Adventure and Multiplayer Co-Op video game. Set on a planet named Pandora, Borderlands tells the story of an ancient alien Vault full with advanced technology and weapons, hidden beneath the surface of the planet. A mega Corporation named Dahl gets in conflict with Atlas Corporation over the vault and soon after taking huge damage, the Atlas Corporation leaves the planet due to the hazards connected to the alien wildlife that started getting conscious after a long lasting Hibernation. The Dahl Corporation settles up and assigns a Xeno-Archeologist named Patricia Tannis who after a great effort, finds the location of the Vault. Atlas Corporation gets aware of the development and sends down The Crimson Lance (a private Military Force) to capture Patricia and get the vault’s location. Meanwhile the Atlas Corporation Invasion and Alien Wildlife devastates the planet and Dahl Corporation along with its operatives and the rich leave the planet. The rest of the population gets left behind to scavenge in isolated settlements and wastelands. The story continues… Borderlands is a superbly cool Video game that lets you choose between four main player characters, who possess unique skills and are highly customizable. With a lot of futuristic weapons, advanced tactics, superbly embedded and quite hardcore action and thrill packed game-play and a great storyline, this game is a blast. Dead Space is a 2008’s Sci-Fi, Horror-Survival, and Third-person Shooter video game published by EA (Electronic Arts). The game is set in the future in the year 2508 and features the character of the protagonist named Isaac Clarke who works as an engineer. The game kicks off with a distress signal from one of the Mining Ships USG Ishimura, harvesting the Ore from a Planet named as Aegis VII. After getting the Distress Signal, CEC (Concordance Extraction Corporation), sends in another Ship USG Kellion to investigate the matter. The Protagonist Isaac along with Commander Zack Hammond and Computer Expert Kendra Daniels gets forwarded to the Ship and upon their arrival at the USG Ishimura, USG Kellion crashes on the docks of USG Ishimura due to some technical issues. After boarding off, Isaac Clarke starts to investigate the malfunctions in ship’s systems and soon encounters the Necromorphs, The Monstrous Reanimated Human Corpses. This is where the player gets in and controls the character of Isaac Clarke. Player’s task is to find the causes of ship’s systems malfunction, repair the system and send the distress signal to USG Valor to get rescued. Finding the Hive Mind (A creature that controls all the Necromorphs) and creating the “Dead Space” is one of the primary objectives of the game as it helps make all the Necromorphs dormant and it is the only way to survive the infestation. With a very story-centric and action-packed gameplay, brilliantly portrayed narrative and all the incredible thrill, Dead Space offer a great Sci-Fi experience of the game. Dead Space offers loads of various types of weapons to kill the Necromorphs, loads of items to collect and upgrades to enhance the efficiency as well as tons of entertaining aspects. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! Developed by 2K Australia is an amazingly thrilling and Action-Packed First-Person Shooter video game. The story of the game revolves around the character of the protagonist Jack who works for Hyperion Corporation. The company loses its Helios Space Station to Military after the Operation Lost Legion and sends you in along with four playable characters. Your task is to fight off the captives from Helios Space Station and regain the control by defeating the Lost Legion. The game lets you interact with a lot of NPCs and switch between the four playable characters according to the needs and the situations you go through.
