In the game, the player assumes the protagonist’s role named as Sonic, a superhero who is selected to save the world from an evil and his dark forces. The player can run, jump, kick, punch, and attack enemies his way through numerous levels while playing the game. During the game, the player can perform two special moves such as Screw Bomb and Dynamite Punch to take down waves of enemies to earn extra points. The player can traverse through five different stages, and battle foes ranged from ruffians to aliens. The health gauges of the player and enemies are displayed on the screen, and the player can refill his health after receiving damage by gathering power-ups. Both Single-player and Multiplayer modes are present in the game, and there are five playable characters each has its unique abilities, strength and weakness. According to the plot, all the members of the garage punk band known as Charlie Murder needs to battle against a demonic army controlled by a former band member who wants to take over the world from the apocalypse. The Multiplayer mode of the game supports up to four players, and the player needs to choose one of five best players to participate in the game. The player can complete the available levels alone or can team up with other three friends to experience the brand new gameplay with cool stuff.
