Shannara is a 1995 Adventure and Single-player video game based on the series of books with the same name by Terry Brooks. The game introduces the exciting characters from the novels and the original story takes place after The Sword of Shannara and before The Elfstones of Shannara. At the beginning, the player assumes the role of the protagonist named as Jak Ohmsford, who is the son of Shea. During the gameplay, the protagonist encounters Allanon, who tells him of the horrible warlock lord’s return. After that, the protagonist set off into the land of Shannara to save the world. The game uses some elements borrowed from role-playing games such as top-down perspective world map exploration and turn-based battles. The game has no real role-playing system such as experience points, character development, statistics, and more. There are a variety of levels and each level has its unique difficulty and a set of challenges to complete.
