Serious Sam 2 is an Action-Adventure, First-person Shooter, Single-player and Multiplayer video game published by 2K Games and developed by Croteam for Windows. It serves as the sequel to Serious Sam: The Second Encounter, released in 2002. The player takes on the role of the protagonist named as Sam Stone, who must battle against enemy forces of the overload known as Mental, who finds to demolish humanity. It takes place after the event of the previous title, the protagonist traverse through different worlds, gathering parts of the medallion to defeat the enemy forces. During his journey, the protagonist is assisted by the Sirian Great Council and receives help from the natives of the land he visits. The player explores the area from a first-person perspective, uses a variety of weapons during navigation and can eliminate enemies to earn experience points. In Multiplayer mode, the player can play with other players and can beat enemies together using advanced weapons. The player collects ammo, power-ups, and health while exploring the environment and can use them to enhance his abilities. During the gameplay, the player equips a weapon in each hand, two more in holstered positions. It offers a campaign in which the player navigates the environment to find the tools required to advance. A hard mode is also available in which the player is confined to a small camp and try to survive against the massive hordes of zombies. Both modes can be played in single-player and multiplayer modes. During the gameplay, the player encounters a small wave of zombies which are relatively easy to kill.
