Romance of the Three Kingdoms V is a Turn-based, Tactical, Strategy, Adventure, Single-player, and Multiplayer video game developed by Koei. It is the fifth installment in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series with the same gameplay to follow as previously. Unlike other series games, the player has to engage in battles to reunite the three kingdoms.
The game has multiple units, and the strategies are limitless as every time, the player can prefer different units. With multiple classes, the player can experience variations in the playstyle as every class has its unique stats. The game has offered four new scenarios where the player can hone his skills by playing these different scenarios.
It all depends on the player’s selected units and deployed strategies to gain victories. As it is a turn-based battle scenario, both the player and enemy take their turns to attack one another across the battlefields. Romance of the Three Kingdoms V has core features such as Four New Scenarios, Turn-based Battles, Tactical Scenarios, Multiple Units, and Strategical Gameplay.

Throughout the game, the player follows the story of a prince named Marth who finds himself on a quest to reclaim his throne. The game takes the player to the Archanea continent, where an evil sorcerer Gharnef and his dark master Medeus are waiting for the prince.
The player can access his and enemy location from the map at the bottom of the screen. The game has multiple chapters, and each chapter offers a large-scale battle that advances the story. As the player progresses, the player can recruit new units and unlock upgrades.
Before every battle, the players must prepare themselves, such as change the assigned weapons, forge new weapons, and manage the inventory to ensure victories. All the battles take place on a grid-based battlefield where the player and enemies have to clear the rival groups and capture important points. Each map has unique terrain ranges from mountains to rivers and flat plains.
