Quake III: Team Arena is an Action, First-person, Classic, FPS, Shooting, Single-player, and Multiplayer video game offered by id Software for various platforms. It serves as the third main entry in Quake Series and offers some a pure story-line gameplay. During the gameplay, the player takes on the role of a protagonist and fights among the top best warriors to achieve the title of Vadrigar in the Arena Eternal.
There are three different kinds of modes, such as Free for All, Team Deathmatch, Tournament, and Capture the Flag mode. Free for all mode allows the player to compete the opponents to score highest, in Team Deathmatch two teams containing four players compete for the highest total team kills, Tournament allows one-to-one match sets in a time limit, and in Capture the Flag mode, each team has to recover its dignity by capturing the Arena Flag from the opponents in the playfield.
The game offers single-player and multiplayer modes, in single-player mode, the player needs to fight with computer-based bots, and in the multiplayer mode, several players in real-time gameplay, communicating with each other rush towards an individual target. Several new weapons are available, such as Quad damage power-up, rocket launcher, and BFG Super Weapon.
While playing the game, the player will lose all the weapons he collects in the playfield, when he dies and starts the mission again with default weapons, such as machine gun and gauntlet.
