Need for Speed: High Stakes is a Racing, Simulation, Single-player, and Multiplayer video game developed by Electronic Arts. Throughout the game, the player takes on the role of a racer and has to show off his speed to complete the race.
The main mission of the player is to show off his skills and dominate the opponents. While racing, the player views the environment from a first-person as well as a third-person perspective. The game offers multiple modes such as quick race, tournaments, special events, and much more.
Completion of the races with the highest possible position rewards the player with credits which he can use to buy new cars or upgrade old cars. Two players race against each other in the high stakes mode, where the winner of the race keeps the loser’s car. The player must possess more than one car to participate in a High Stakes race.

In solo mode, the player has to come across the AI racers, and in the online multiplayer mode, thousands of players from all over the globe participate in the contest. Sport Mode comprises three day by day races, and the players have to earn Driver Ratings as well as Sportsmanship Ratings.
