Necronomicon: The Dawning of Darkness is an Adventure, Point-and-Click, and Single-player video game developed by Cryo Interactive and published by Microids. The game takes the player in the world of Necronomicon, where the scholar named as William H. Stanton is mysteriously thrust into the dark world of the occult. It takes place in the historic year 1927, where Stanton is in his drawing room when his childhood best friend named Edgar appears at his door. According to the story, the friend of the protagonist seems distraught, and it gives a metallic pyramid to him, telling him not to give it to anyone. After seeing the bad condition of his friend, Stanton is visited by the doctor who informs the protagonist about his friend who has lost his mind. Now, Stanton knows that there is something more to the story, and he decides to locate Edgar, but during the exploration, he discovers a horrifying secret that invades all of humanity.
