The game serves as the 13th installment in the series of NBA 2K game, and it is the successor to NBA 2K11. It offers the similar gameplay like its previous titles and lets the player participate in new NBA Basketball matches and enjoy dozens of modes with real-life and customized players and teams from all around the globe. MyPlayer mode lets the player create his unique character and play through career mode to build his profile. Before getting into the land, the player needs to select his team, customize its players to change the appearance and start playing against rival teams. The primary goal is to score enough points compared to against team and defeat them to move to the next match and win points and rewards. There are real-life teams available including 1986-87 Los Angeles Lakers, 1995-96 Chicago Bulls, and more.
