The player has to obtain the energy required to lock-free a dimensional portal and make progress. Some levels require the player to accumulate more energy to open the portal. After the portal is open, the player with a limited amount of time must enter it. If the player fails to do so, it will cause the player to lose a life, and he must restart.
The player has to use one button for attack and jump. The character can also climb walls and poles or hang onto certain kinds of ledges. The player performs backward flip jumps by doing a normal jump and pressing the pad in the opposite direction of the character.
