The game is the 4th edition in the series and it comes with several modifications to gameplay in fielding and batting, and provides the player with an option to change the fielding and hitting to classic mode, reversing the controls. The game features a brand new method for controlling the player known as Load and Fire batting. In the game, the player commands the body of the character in better way by pressing and holding the button to lift the leg of the hitter up at the accurate time. A new precision throw control is introduced in the game, in which the player can use the right analog stick to throw the ball to the bases. During the gameplay, if the player holds the button for a long time, he can overthrow the base and if he doesn’t hold for long, the ball could short.
