MTV’s Celebrity Deathmatch is a Wrestling, Fighting, Single-player, and Multiplayer video game developed by Big Ape Productions. All through the game, the player has to guide his wrestler through the traditional and basic fighting scenario requiring him to deplete the opponent’s health bar as quickly as possible. The game has over 25 playable characters, out of which some characters are unlocked, and the rest of them are locked.
The player has to hit the opponent several times and win the match without using any weapons or tools. After depleting the health meter of the opponent, a text containing (Kill) will be shown on the screen. The winning player has to fill up the MTV meter to its extreme. While fighting, the player can finish the opponent off by performing special moves. Within the matches, the player will find several dropped boxes having various power-ups and weapons that can be picked up by the wrestlers.

The player plays against a series of computer-controlled opponents or in a single match against another player randomly.
Each game consists of three rounds, and the player must defeat an opponent in less than 30 seconds. If a player knocks out the opponent in the restricted time or he ends with the greater amount of energy left, then he will be declared the round’s winner. The player must win two rounds in order to defeat the opponent and proceed to the next battle.

Out of five attack buttons, four buttons are used for traditional attacks like punches and kicks, whereas the fifth one can be used for special attacks. The special button can serve two basic functions such as; the first function allows players to side-step into the foreground or background.

A health gauge is displayed for both the fighter and enemy characters. Using an eight-way joystick and two buttons for attacking and jumping, the player can complete all the levels, respectively. Pressing the attack button repeatedly will let the player’s character perform a combo. By moving the joystick in the opposite direction before landing the combo/attack, the final blow can be changed.

It is the thirteenth installment of The King of Fighters series and comes up with some new in-game elements with the replacement of the previous ones. Each fight has specific rounds, and the team with the highest won rounds will win. Arcade mode lets the player play in 3-on-3 or 1-on-1 modes without a ratio system.
