Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition is an Action, Fighting, Single and Multiplayer video game developed by Midway Games. The gameplay is similar to the Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance with offering three more characters, such as Sektor, Noob Saibot, and Sareena, where each character has a unique combat-style.
During the gameplay, the player needs to battle against the AI characters by choosing a specific character. This game allows the player to utilize the two fighting styles at the same time that are switchable at any moment of the gameplay. In this entry, the player can prevent the character from getting outside of the boundary.
The game allows the player to use two fatalities, such as one normal and the other contains the weapon. It comes up with three different modes, such as survival, tag team, and practice. The practice mode allows the player to do practice, tag team mode permits the player to create a team, and in the survival mode, the player needs to survive as long as possible to stay in action.

The game has multiple characters where each character has three superpowers, which can generate combos on the binding. While battling, the player views the environment from the third-person perspective. The game comes up with four distinct playable modes such as Campaign, Versus, Arcade, and Challenges with specific gameplay.
Campaign Mode has five levels divided into eight stages, where each stage has predefined warriors and structure a free story. Versus mode offers two players to combat with the desired character for the ultimate champion.
