The game is set during the events of the first title and revolves around the journey of the protagonist as the player battle against his way around Europe into Nazi Germany during the event of World War II. In the game, the player takes on the role of the protagonist who must venture through a set of levels set during the 2nd world war against the Wehrmacht using the traditional weaponry of that era, doing a set of military operations. Every mission starts with a discussion, which advances the plot and introduces new avatars. Each mission is made up through some linear levels, and each offers a unique location. In the game, the player is tasked with objectives during levels, ranging from infiltration, rescue, espionage, and recon. Because of a variety between locations and missions, the gameplay modifies pace. With immersive gameplay, shooting mechanics, and core visuals, Medal of Honor: Frontline is a superb game to play.

Like its predecessor, the player needs to accomplish a variety of objectives by interacting with objects, acquiring items, and smashing specific items while using four different type of weapons against enemies. Further weapons will be unlocked as the player proceeds through the story to unlock new areas to explore.
