The game revolves around the character of Max Payne, a detective in NYPD (New York Police Department). In the game, Max Payne follows the footprints of the killer who murdered his whole family. The story of the game draws the inspiration from the novels of Micky Spillane. Max Payne features fast-paced action and adventure filled game-play along with superbly crafted graphics. The game offers exciting gameplay based, on the HBO series The Sopranos. The storyline of the game is set between the 5th and sixth seasons and revolves illegitimate son named Joey LaRocca, as he struggles to make his way through the family business. The story starts with NPC named Tony Soprano providing Joey LaRocca (the protagonist), a place in the Mafia. During the job, the protagonist accidentally murders Mario Buscetta, Angelo Buscetta’s nephew. After that, Angie sends a hitman to target the protagonist, but he kills the hitman during the rooftop chase. In the game, the player takes several missions from the main characters of the series at the specific points. The game is different from influenced games in that it is in a linear and story-driven gameplay as opposed to open world type gameplay of GTA. The game becomes challenging as the player advances through it and further levels will be unlocked.
