Mario Sports Mix revolves around Sports genre and supports both Single-player and Multiplayer modes, developed by Square Enix and published by Nintendo. The game introduces the most playable characters and explorable locations from the long-running series of Mario with few guest appearances by avatars from Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest series of Square Enix. The player can opt to play as one of many Mii characters. The game is played in the vein of the previous Mario sports video games with some features such as top-down perspective and powerful special moves, arcade-like gameplay, and more. The coin redemption system enables the player to gather coins that can be spent on including extra points to the next objective the player has to complete. The story of the game is set in the Mushroom Kingdom where the character named Toad is gathering flowers when an object crashes behind the castle of Princess Peace. After that, Toad runs to the object and locates a red crystal comprising a basketball, a green crystal comprising a volleyball, and more. There are many challenging levels, and the player has to complete each one while playing to become the master.
