In Single-player mode, the game puts the player in the world to win multiple games against antagonist named as the Koopa Kid to fend off Bower from taking over the Dream Depot. The Multiplayer mode comprises four different players from the popular series of Mario playing a board game and each board has a variety of theme. There are several mini-games that the player can play to earn coins. The game features ten different playable characters including Toad and Book.
