The game acts as the 2nd main installment in the series of Life is Strange game and the first of five episodes, released in 2018, while further two episodes are scheduled to release in 2019. The game is played from a third-person viewpoint, and the player can take on the role of the protagonist named as Sean Diaz. According to the storyline, the protagonist is on the run from the police with his brother named Daniel.
During the gameplay, the player as Sean can interact with the surrounding, NPCs via dialogues, and obtain objects to advance through the game. Decisions in the game will lead the player to different branches in the story and affect the behavior of Daniel. The story starts with a teenage boy along with his younger brother.
