The game is heavily focused on the Lego theme of the same name and offers the similar gameplay to Dungeon Keeper for the Microsoft Windows version. The game starts with training missions and a single mission unlocked. Most missions in the game nee the player to gather a specific amount of energy crystals. Some missions in the game need the player to find Rock Raiders that have been stuck in Landslides or to locate specific pieces of equipment and bring it back to the base. At the end of each mission, the chief would evaluate the work of the player, examine different aspects of the missions and would give the rating percentage after exploring all these things. The PlayStation version offers the blend of Strategy and Action games, in which the player commands the character instead of controlling a squad. The most mission needs the player to gather energy crystals like the Microsoft Windows version, while some missions enable the player to save Rock Raiders.
