The game tasks place in the fictional Universe of Legoland and center on various mini-figure characters battling in a racing competition organized by a track championship known as Rocket Racer. There are a variety of vehicles and each with its unique specification and abilities. The game lets the player control a mini-figure character, enabling him to drive a set of cars and race against other AI controlled character or another player in different events. The player can create his unique character and vehicle by unlocking Lego bricks and can use them during the race.
