The game takes place in the massive Lego City and lets the player assume the role of the protagonist, who is an undercover police officer named Chase McCain. It puts the player on an epic adventure to explore the massive environment, find criminals and catch them. He can interact with NPCs, navigate obstacles and can solve a set of missions to earn points. There are dozens of vehicles and lets the player explore the game world either on foot or by vehicle. The player can perform various actions such as jump, run, climb, and drive a vehicle. The game unlocks further content as the player progress, and he can enhance his skills and abilities using his points. The player has to fight against foes by punching or using weapons.
