The game is the sequel to Killzone, released in 2004. It is played from a top-down perspective in contrast to the original title, played from a first-person view. It offers the unique blend of dungeon crawler and shooting elements. The game puts the player to assume the role of the protagonist named Jam Templar, who can control several cars, including a tank, turret, hovercraft, and more. There are many levels, and the player can get help from buddies during the mission. The buddies are teammates that have to be saved. By gathering pickups in the form of money, the player can unlock further weapons which can be used in the game. The player can find these weapons in caches in specific levels.
