Killer Instinct 2 is a 1997 Fighting, Single-player and Two-player video game developed by Rare and published by Midway Games. The game is the sequel to Killer Instinct, released in 1994 and it comes with improved gameplay and several modifications. Its mainly focuses on fighting genre, and the matches in the game can be fought between two characters who are struggling to deplete the life bar of each other. Like the original title, the game introduces several playable characters each with unique play style, special moves and fighting style. The player has to choose his one of many fighters from available and jump into the stage where he will face off another opponent from a side-scroll perspective with an aim to take down him within the time limit. During the match, the player can use his special moves, punching and kicking abilities, and try combo to defeat by depleting his life bar. The life bar of the player decreases upon receiving attacks, and the player will die if his life bar reaches zero.
