Ikariam is a Browser-based MMORTS (Massively Multiplayer Online – Real Time Strategy) video game by gameforge. The game takes the players back to the Classical Era of Greece and leaves them in an Archipelago (A group of Islands), lets them be the Rulers of the Islands and tasks them to Expand their reign and lead massive legions of troops into historic battles. Ikariam offers five main types of resources such as wood, wine, marble, Crystal and Sulpher that the playes can produce with the help of Sawmill, Quarry, Crystal Mines, Sulpher pits and Vineyard. Furthermore, Ikariam allows the players to make alliances by making Embassy, work together with the allied nations, protect each other against all the outer threats and keep on growing. Ikariam offers a truly very unique business model that allows the players to purchase upgrades and other advantages by micro-transactions, acquire a sixth and most important resource to speed up the process of building and capturing.
