Historyline: 1914-1918 (also known as Great War: 1914-1918) is a Turn-based Tactics, Single-player and Multiplayer video game created and published by Blue Byte. The plot of the game takes the player through different fights of the World War I. There are two different factions such as German and French and the player is capable of selecting one of them to jump into the world where he must battle against opposite side to take down enemies. The game begins in August 1914, with Germany threatening France. As during the conflict, the open Greenfields of the first fights, conquered by cavalry, are replaced by terrain full of bunkers and trenches. The game is played on a hexagonal gird-based map. Both players can act at the same time on a split-screen and each is displaying a part of the massive map. The turns are split into attack and move phases. The ultimate objective is to dominate the headquarters of the enemy while protecting his own. The victory also achieves by annihilating every unit controlled by enemies. The game represents the grid-based maps and revolves around turn-based combat. There is a system known as Law which places the limitations on player actions during the conflict. The world of the game split into several sections which unlock as the storyline of the game advances. The game is played from an isometric perspective, and the ultimate task of the player is to complete a variety of quests to earn points.
