Great Battles Medieval takes place in a historical-themed world where you, along with your army, requires to battle against opposing forces. Similar to other RTS titles, strategy is the key to success. The game features 20 different types of units, and each one is offering its unique characteristics. During the gameplay, you can control your units using the top-down perspective and lead them to victory by defeating opposing forces.
The introduction of a free form quest map lets you decide when and where to battle within the historical framework. The game features an innovative Battle Card System that provides you a lot of bonuses and penalties in battle. A small map is featured at the right corner of the screen, displaying you how many units are ready to face off you on the battlefield.
