Gradius V is a Single-player, Co-op, and Multiplayer Scrolling Shooter video game developed by Treasure and published by Konami. The game takes place in the outer space environment where the player commands a spaceship in the fictional space known as Vic Viper. The game introduces an evil empire which acts as the enemy of the player. During the gameplay, the player explores the 2D world with his ship in order to take down enemies by firing bullets. In the game, the player needs to go through levels comprising open space and other containing manoeuvring through close spaces which modify between vertical and horizontal scrolling. As the player comes into contact with anything available on the screen, the spacecraft explodes, and the player loses a life. The game can be played with one-player or with two-player at a time in co-op mode. It also features a level editor, which lets the player make his custom levels including levels from scratch. In the game, the player controls an aircraft on a 2D plane. The debris falls off the screen as the player defeats enemies. If the player successfully manages to touch the debris, then the game grants the player extra mass and firepower. There is a massive variety of levels, and each level comprises a set of objectives. During the gameplay, the player can create his own ship, enemies, and bosses using the level editor, as well as backgrounds.
