It serves as the sequel to Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved, released in 2008. In the game, the player commands the small, but a highly manoeuvrable ship that is capable of moving and firing independently in any direction. The job of the player is to score the best points by smashing the variety of shapes while surviving by not touching them. If the player touches the shapes, the ship of the player is destroyed, and the player lost his life. There are six exciting modes such as Deadline, King, Evolved, Pacifism, Waves, and more. Depending on the mode, bombs and lives can be gathered upon collecting the certain number of points. The player using the bombs to clear the screen from enemy shapes instantly, although no points are rewards for the destruction.
