Forbidden Siren is a Horror-Survival, Adventure, Stealth, Simulation, and Single-player video game developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Throughout the game, the player experiences a cast of characters that possess an ability to see and hear the nearby creatures around the character.
The game has two stages, where each stage takes place in one of ten areas of the village of Hanuda. To complete a stage, the player must complete a primary objective that involves reaching an exit point. The clarity of each target depends on the distance from the player. Once the player locates a point, he can push certain buttons to switch between multiple points of view.
The player character cannot move during usage of any ability and is thus endangered to attack. The game focuses on avoiding Shibito rather than fight so the player must walk silently, avoid the use of a flashlight, and crouch behind objects. Certain mission objectives require the player character to use items to achieve a goal.
