Flying Shark is a Vertical-scroll, Single-player and Two-player video game developed by Toaplan and published by Taito. The game lets the player pilot a biplane with a task to take out enemy land, naval craft, and air across different environments. During the gameplay, certain enemies will produce bonuses when shooting down, including point bonuses, power-ups, and extra lives. There are several stages available, and each stage starts and ends at the runway. Every time the player tries to land at a runway beyond the first takeoff, the number of bombs will multiply 3,000 points to the total score of the player. While playing the game, the player receives three bombs at the beginning. The game comprises up to five stages, and each has its unique objectives a boss that the player needs to face off upon reaching its end.
