Flinthook mixes the Rogue-like, Platform, Side-scroll and Action elements and supports Single-player mode only developed and published by Tribute Games for multiple platforms. In the game, the player commands a space pirate who must explore the randomly generated ships while searching for treasure. The player uses the grabbling hook to travel the ship to complete the level. The player controls the Captain Flinthook, who is equipped with a plasma gun, enabling the player to slow down the speed of time. The player explores the world from a side-scroll perspective and can jump to grab the hook and move to the next world. He uses the weapons to kill enemies and can collect treasure and other gems to score the highest points.
