The story follows a group of adventurers and challenging quest to take down a monster called Sin. The player assumes the role of the protagonist named as Tidus, who is an athlete star in the fictional sport called Blitzball. According to the story, the protagonist finds himself in the world Spira after the destruction of his homeland by Sin. He teams up with summoner Yuna on her journey to defeat the monster Sin. As the protagonist, the player can manipulate the world from a third-person perspective, interact with environment and NPCs to progress through the story and can participate in the turn-based battle to kill enemies using different weapons and combat skills.
