Final Fantasy VIII is a Role-playing and Single-player video game created and published by Square. The title serves as the 8th installment in the long-running series of Final Fantasy. The game takes place in the unnamed fantasy world with an emphasis on Sci-fi elements. The storyline revolves around the group of mercenaries, controlled by Squall Leonhart, as they effort to conquer the war sparked by the sorceress Edea. After taking down Edea, the main characters of the game learn that she was controlled by Ultimecia, a brutal sorceress from the future distance, who wants to compress time. The game has three modes such as the battle screen, the field map, and the world map. The world map offers a 3D display, in which the player explores the environment freely around the small-scale of the world. During the gameplay, the character can traverse through the world map in multiple ways, including by foot, train, Chocobo, car and an airship. The player moves in the world from a third-person perspective, interact with non-player characters and battle against enemies using the ranged weapons.
