Fight Night Round 2 is a Sports, Single-player, and Multiplayer Fighting video game developed by EA Chicago and published by EA Sports for PlayStation 2 and Xbox. It is marked as only the Fight Night game in the series to be released on the GameCube. The game introduces a new control scheme, Total Punch Control, returns in this title from Fight Night 2004. With this control scheme, the maneuvers and movement include punching, blocking and learning, are performed with right or left analog sticks. It mainly revolves around boxing gameplay, in which the player needs to start his boxer in the start and then jump into the ring to confront another character. The main objective is to take down the opponent within the limited rounds and claim the trophy. Each character in the game has its unique fighting skills and moves which can be used during the match to defeat the opponent. It takes a turn from its previous titles and introduces a darker setting with player damage and animations that conveys the fierce of the sport of boxing. It mainly focuses on the third-person fight gameplay and has a new control scheme. The game lets the player through onscreen punches by flicking the controller. In the beginning of the game, the player needs to select his character from available fighters and participate in matches against opponents with a task to beat them all in one-on-one matches. The game lets the player control the protagonist named Simon, a man who is struggling to conquer an illegal fighting tournament in order to help get father out of extreme trouble with the crime lord. The game has only a single mode, and it comes with several fighting moves and different opponents and settings. In the game, the player is capable of going up in the leagues by earning a certain number of points, which he can use to unlock further opponents and scenarios. The player controls the character in the game using the Kinect system of Xbox 360. The mode of the game is accessible after accomplishing the tutorial, and the player can play the game from the over-the-shoulder viewpoint. The player can perform a range of actions such as long and short punches, dodges, blocks, head-butts and more. To perform special attacks, the player needs to shout in the direction of Kinect.
