Fight Night Round 2 is a Sports, Single-player, and Multiplayer Fighting video game developed by EA Chicago and published by EA Sports for PlayStation 2 and Xbox. It is marked as only the Fight Night game in the series to be released on the GameCube. The game introduces a new control scheme, Total Punch Control, returns in this title from Fight Night 2004. With this control scheme, the maneuvers and movement include punching, blocking and learning, are performed with right or left analog sticks. It mainly revolves around boxing gameplay, in which the player needs to start his boxer in the start and then jump into the ring to confront another character. The main objective is to take down the opponent within the limited rounds and claim the trophy. Each character in the game has its unique fighting skills and moves which can be used during the match to defeat the opponent. The game is played from a third-person viewpoint and allow the player to perform deadly attacks. The game acts the sequel to the previously released title, Fight Night Round 2 by EA Sports. It comes with several improvements such as better gameplay and graphics. There are many professional boxers available, and the player can select his favourite one to jump into the ring in order to fight against an opponent. Each boxer has its unique skills, weakness and strength that the player can use in his favour. The ultimate task of the player is to use his kicking and punching abilities to attack an opponent while taking down to win the round. In Career mode, the player to fight against other boxers to gain popularity to reach the sponsored fights, or to be selected on ESPN. Unlike the previous games, the game defaults without a HUD (Heads-up display), enabling the player to judge the status of his stamina and energy. The game offers a stunning gameplay, revolving around the Rocky Franchise. In the game, the player takes on the role of the protagonist, the main character named as Rocky Balboa and the plot focuses on the struggle of the protagonist’s journey from the fighter club, facing fierce competitors like Spider Rico and more. It offers story mode, in which the game puts the player in control of Rocky Balboa, battling against several opponents, either already existent or new with the movie series. In the plot, the player assumes the role of Rocky Balboa, Ivan Drago, Apollo Creed, or Clubber Lang to advance through the game. It has six different modes, including Tournament, Exhibition, Career, Survival, Practice and Training. In Career mode, the player needs to select one of the major characters of the first four title of Rocky Franchise. Each character has a unique story of how he rises to the top of the boxing world. After selecting the character, the player has to battle against an opponent in a time-based level, struggle to beat it using his punching abilities and defend himself from enemy attack to remain alive at the end of the level.
