The game takes place in the fictional land and the story centers on a supernatural phenomenon, fictional special forces called to contain. You can get into the role of the protagonist named as Point Man, who possesses superhuman powers and his ultimate task is to unearth the mysteries of a paranormal menace in the shape of a small girl. You can manipulate the environment from the first-person perspective and your character is capable of climbing ladders, shooting enemies, exploring the environment, and performing melee combat to take down enemies. Another top tier agent Issac joins the protagonist and the game takes another turn with a series of attacks from the mutants. The story paces on with the protagonist and Issac fighting and eliminating the mutants. The game concludes with the protagonist finding and eliminating the real cause of mutant outbreak. The House of the Dead: Overkill provides with a similar game-play to its predecessors and most of the characters and game characteristics are drawn also from the previous games in the series.
