The game is the sequel to 1942: The Pacific Air War, taking place in Western Europe during World War II from 1943 to 1945. It comes with many modes, including a Single Mission and Quick Start Option which enables selection of mission and aircraft type, and a campaign mode known as the Pilot Career. In the campaign mode, the player assumes the role of a Pilot in an RAF, USAAF, or Luftwaffe and play in one of three different eras. The player can explore the environment from a third-person perspective with an aim to battle against opponents in the WWII-themed world and struggle to take down them at any cost to become the master.
