The gameplay is based on the Dungeon and Dragons RPG video game, taking place in the Mystara campaign setting. The game is played from a side-scroll perspective, and the player will experience the RPG and Beat ‘em up elements. There are different playable characters, including Fighter, Elf, Dwarf, etc. and the player has to select his favourite one to jump into the game to battle against enemies. In the game, bosses include the troll that creates unless burned, the dreaded shadow Elf, a massive black dragon, and the optional superhero. At the specific path, the game presented the player with a choice to take to advance through the storyline. Each path of the game goes to a different area, and in the game, it is impossible to explore every area in a single play.
