The game serves as an HD remake version of DuckTales, a video game published on NES in 1989. It introduces the 2.5D graphics with 2D hand-drawn characters with 3D modeled levels. Similar to that of original release, the game revolves around Scrooge McDuck who is traveling across the world to find five treasure boxes to increase his fortune. The remake version features massive enhancements to the original audio and graphics, an expanded story, and a full voice cast. The story revolves around the Beagle Boys who attempt another raid on the money bin of Scrooge, with Baggy, Bouncer, and Burger Beagle capturing Louie, Dewey, and Huey. The game puts the player in the role of the protagonist who can find diamonds along the journey, treasure chests, and more. The player navigates the environment from a side-scroll perspective where he can use his platforming skills to overcome obstacles and to advance through the storyline.
