The game introduces the characters from Dragon Quest VI such as Milly and Terry, when they were children. Sometime, the game is often compared to the series of Pokemon, due to their similar gameplay. The player assumes the role of the protagonist, who struggles to rescue his sister. During the gameplay, the player can recruit the monsters into his party, instead of fighting in epic battles. The player can participates in random battles and can set out meat, which may coax the brutal monsters into becoming a part of the party at the end of battle. The player can breed up to two monsters, merge them for a new and powerful monster. King’s Bounty: Dark Side mixes the Tactical, Role-playing and Strategy elements developed and published by 1C-Softclub and published by 1C Company for Windows. The game serves as the standalone title in the series of King’s Bounty and features Single-player mode only. It takes place in the fictional world and offers the similar gameplay to previous titles. Unlike previous games, the protagonist belongs to demon, vampire, and etc. factions which are the antagonistic factions. It allows the player to pick up one of three available protagonists such as the Orc Bagyr (a Warrior), the Neoline (belong to Paladin Class), and the Vampire Daert (the Mage). The game offers a chance to the player join dark forces to explore the mysterious places of the world never before navigated by the bounty hunter. After choosing the class, the player needs to explore the environment, fight against enemies, defeat them to earn points and unlock additional items in the game. The player navigates the environments from the isometric perspective, interact with non-player characters and can attack enemies to defeat them.
