Def Jam: Icon is the 3rd title in the Hip Hop video game series of Def Jam and revolves around the Fighting genre, developed by EA Chicago and published by Electronic Arts for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Unlike the previous title, the player is able to change the soundtrack in his style. There are over twenty-eight playable characters available, and the game represents the gameplay which is less wrestling-oriented compared to previous titles. It offers the similar gameplay to Fight Night: Round 3 by EA Chicago, introducing the focus on brawling, blending low and high attacks, throws, blocks, and more. It takes place in the 3D world where the player can choose his character from available and compete against a rival opponent using his punching and kicking abilities. Each character has its unique play style, personality and special moves which the player uses to take down the opponents in the one-on-one match. Each stage comes with a different scenario, and the job of the player is to decrease the health bar of the opponent to win.
